- Rye is a cool, medium brown, semi-transparent stain applied to maple, with a gray glaze and a medium sheen. Moderate distressing is applied to both the finish and wood layers. The finish distressing includes hand padding, dry brushing, moderate small diameter spatter, and moderate cow tailing. The physical distressing includes softened corners and edges, moderate peck marks, light to moderate rasping, and light random awl scratch marks.
