- Homestead Sable is a warm, dark-brown, semi-transparent stain with a light brown glaze and a low sheen. Wire brushing allows the gaze to hang up and draw attention to the oak’s beautiful cathedrals and other natural wood characteristics. Its beauty is further enhanced by hand padding and dry brushing. The physical distressing includes softened corners and edges, and wire brushing. .
