Our Colby vases are crafted in a workshop that's owned and operated entirely by women. Recipes for the materials they use—in this case, a blend of dolomite and clay—are developed at the studio specifically for each type of item they make. Colby begins in a handcrafted mold that's filled by an artisan, then left to dry. Once released from the mold, each vase is smoothed by hand and finished in a multi-step process with hand-applied glazes. Colby also includes 2% to 4% recycled materials from the studio—a good use of resources that also reinforces the integrity and stability of the finished piece.
- Made of ceramic
- Black and white glaze
- Due to the hand-crafted nature, variations are to be expected.
- Hand-crafted in China
