The silky-smooth, rainbow-like finish on this eye-catching octagon-shaped tray comes from the sea. Mother-of-pearl, the iridescent inner layer found in oyster shells, is harvested in Vietnam, where artisans apply individual pieces to the wood surface by hand—and just like that, a simple wood tray is transformed into an oceanic treasure.
